1. Program Title:

Bridging the Gap – Educational Support for Rural and Backward Students


2. Background:

In India, millions of children from rural and backward communities face major barriers to accessing quality education. Factors such as poverty, lack of infrastructure, low parental literacy, and geographic isolation continue to hinder their learning journey. Thangarra Sreyasa Association (TSA) recognizes the urgent need to bridge this educational gap and create equal learning opportunities for all children, regardless of their background.


3. Objective:

  • To provide essential academic support to underprivileged students from rural and backward areas.

  • To increase school attendance, retention, and academic performance among marginalized children.

  • To equip students with learning materials, remedial education, and digital tools for modern learning.

  • To promote inclusive and equitable education in line with SDG Goal 4 (Quality Education).


4. Target Group:

  • 500 students from rural villages and backward communities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

  • Primary and upper primary school children (Grades 1–10), with a focus on SC/ST, OBC, and economically weaker sections.


5. Program Activities:

  • Distribution of Educational Kits: Notebooks, stationery, school bags, uniforms, and shoes.

  • Remedial Coaching Classes: After-school tutoring in Math, Science, and Languages.

  • Digital Literacy Access: Tablets, smart TVs, and learning apps for schools in remote areas.

  • Parent-Teacher Workshops: To raise awareness of the value of continued education.

  • Career Awareness Sessions: For senior students to explore future opportunities.


6. Expected Outcomes:

  • Improved academic performance and learning outcomes.

  • Increased school attendance and reduced dropout rates.

  • Empowerment of parents and community in supporting children’s education.

  • Enhanced digital inclusion in rural education.
